I am wondering if there are specifications for brand and model for LED luminaires in the specs.

We do not have LED fixture manufacturer/distributor related specifications in the MMCD. Public sector purchasers (i.e. cities/local governments etc.) in BC rely on the program developed by BC Hydro and BC MoTI called “LED Street Lights Across BC” for LED roadway lighting purchase specifications.

There’s a list of manufacturers/distributors that have been pre-qualified to sell products as part of this program.

If you are not a public sector purchaser, you can still acquire the pre-qualified products through the manufacturers/distributors listed in the link above.

For design purposes, roadway lighting designs shall meet the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC) guidelines (i.e. Guide for the design of Roadway Lighting – 2005), and Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) requirements, as well as local government guidelines/specifications.

The MMCD Design Guidelines are also a good reference for design purposes.
